Martina Mcateer Artist Statement:
[This work is about] transience…how we flow also like the tide…our dream theatres within us and the duality of all. There is a sense of the ending of the old order and a whole new emergence.
I find the Western world needs labels that I don’t really need. I like to paint and I like to write as in the way I like to dance and dream…My creative identity is in all of it.
As a female and a mother my creative expression gives me a sense of not being invisible…ironically it is when I disappear into my work that I am most visible.
