Thenmozhi Soundararajan is a transmedia storyteller and journalist who believes story is the most important unit of social change. Growing up as a Tamil Dalit, she was driven to tell the stories of marginalized communities. This led to her founding the international media training organization Third World Majority. As a singer/director she fuses epic stories with complex visuals and melodies. Her films often explore interactivity, stereoscopic imagery, projections, and  use science fiction to examine societal issues. Her work has been recognized by the Producers Guild of America Diversity Program, The Museum of Contemporary Art, The Magnum Foundation, The Annenberg Innovation Center, Slamdance, MIT Center for New Media Studies, The Sorbonne, Source Magazine, Utne Reader, The National Center for the Humanities, The National Science Foundation, The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Follow her work at her blog www.dalitnation.com or on twitter @dalitdiva. American Dream Fellow, Visual Artist in Residence, Consultant
