Nancy Cassell Artist Statement:
Nancy Fletcher Cassell is a visual artist and writer. Her poems have appeared in Water-
Stone Review (finalist Jane Kenyon Poetry Prize), Heartland Review (finalist, Joy Bale
Boone poetry Award), Bigger Than They Appear: Anthology of Very Short Poems from
Accents Publishing, Still: the journal and Poems and Drawings on Peace and Justice, by
Greater Cincinnati Artists. She also received an Honorable Mention in poetry from The
Kentucky Women Writers Conference. She has an MFA in Drawing and her visual work
has received Al Smith Fellowships from The Kentucky Arts Council, The Kentucky
Foundation for Women, The Southern Arts Federation/NEA and Art Matters. She has
received residency fellowships to The Virginia Center for Creative Arts and to Yaddo.
