Mona Alvarado Frazier
Mona AlvaradoFrazier believes that a story isn’t only about a happy ending it’s about the journey. Strong women, self-identity, life challenges, and resiliency make their way into her three novels in progress. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Mona began a career with the California Department of Corrections as a Counselor working with offenders ages 13-25 years of age and ended it as a Captain, creating and managing the first Female Responsive Treatment Center. She considers herself fortunate because she survived a 28-year career in law enforcement, divorce, breast cancer, and other personal challenges and learned to thrive. Writing is a passion Mona makes time for whether it is working on her novels, blog, or weekly column. She enjoys being with her three creative kids, traveling abroad, and volunteering with community organizations that advocate for social justice, education and the arts. Courage Fellow.
