After a long career as a producer and director of animated movies and television, Lynne Southerland felt a strange pull to write her own stories and began writing a novel. The gravity of the process gently sucked her in until now the primary focus of her life is her writing. In the never-ending process of expanding her skills, Lynne has participated in The Highlights Foundation Writers’ Workshop at Chautauqua and actively attends conferences, workshops, and events sponsored by SCBWI, CBW-LA and GLAWS. Her flash fiction story, “The Knife,” was published as part of a 2013 anthology entitled Story Sprouts, and her picture book manuscript Red Dog and The Kangaroo Kidnapping was featured on the children’s website, www.smories.com. She has completed two manuscripts, In The All At Once Time – a YA novel with magic realism elements, and Outta Toon – a Middle Grade novel.
