Tonya Russell Artist Statement: I consider myself an artist, a self-taught photographer with a borrowed camera. Photography is a way for me to connect with a part of myself I have yet to fully find. The world is changing, so am I. Little by little, I am understanding myself. Fragments are coming together and separating, creating a self-awareness I thought I had lost.
Tonya Russell, is a photographer/poet of color. Mexican/ Native American themes often seep into her work.
