Catherine Shubert
Catherine Shubert is a teacher, poet, and activist hailing from outside of Detroit, MI. She holds a BA in English with honors from the University of Michigan, a Master’s in Urban Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and last year she taught ESL abroad in Andorra through the Fulbright Program’s ETA grant. She currently works as a writer-in-residence in several Detroit district and charter schools, helping to develop and to publish budding young urban voices. In the fall, she will attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in pursuit of her MFA. She enjoys hiking, painting, running, and practicing/teaching yoga.
