Kim Dower
Kim Dower grew up in New York City and received a BFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College, where she also taught. Her company, Kim-from-L.A., Literary & Media Services, has been helping publishers and writers promote and publicize their books for over twenty-five years. A media trainer as well, Kim helps her clients – from bestselling commercial fiction writers to literary fiction and non-fictions writers — prepare for their interviews using the book she co-authored, Life is a Series of Presentations. Also a poet who herself has been on book tours, Kim’s first collection of poetry, Air Kissing on Mars, (Red Hen Press, 2010) was on the Poetry Foundation’s Contemporary Best Sellers list, and was described by the Los Angeles Times as, “sensual and evocative . . . seamlessly combining humor and heartache.” Slice of Moon, her second book, will be published by Ren Hen this October. Kim teaches a class called, Come Dressed as Your Favorite Poem, in the B.A. Program of Antioch University. She lives in West Hollywood, California.
